Uneventful 2/8/13

We've said before uneventful days are great days in the NICU and today was one of those days. My boss and friend Brad visited for almost two hours this morning. I gushed about my sweet girl and he caught me up on all the happenings at work. Thank you Team Awesome for covering for me so I can spend time at my new job as a mommy.
Hattie's feeds increased two cc to 26 cc. She weighs 1,424 grams, or 3 pounds, 2.2 ounces. Hattie moved up a diaper size; I love when things are too small for her! She's now wearing Pampers preemie small diapers. They are huge on her but the extra small size was starting to look like a bikini and she was developing a muffin top!
We nuzzled again today. Hattie sucked (well, mostly licked and explored) almost all the way through her feed and fell asleep with about five minutes left. Hattie and I kangarooed for more than four hours today. I will forever be grateful for this time we get to spend together. There will be no other time in Hattie's life that I will get to spend hours on end cuddling, talking, singing, reading, listening to music and napping with my sweet baby.
Chris and Hattie are kangarooing now and he's said several times that this is the best part of his day. Over the last few nights he started teaching her the ABCs and how to spell her name. I am so grateful to be married to Chris. He's an awesome dad and I'm proud of him for balancing work, our daughter and me.
